Beatriz Véliz Argueta

Beatriz has a restless and curious mind that rarely stands still. With an interdisciplinary academic training and a globalized life she is passionate about building bridges so that experiences, biographies, objects and complex arguments can circulate freely and create new ways of understanding the world.

Her work is an ongoing dialogue of ideas, theories, anecdotes and fragments of life reflecting and critically questioning larger social processes.

Beatriz, a strong advocate of dialogues between arts and social sciences, lectures at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and, during the summer, at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Exhibition Curator

Stefano Carnelli

Stefano was born in Milan and lived in Lisbon and Barcelona before moving to London in 2013. With a background in architecture and urban planning, he has come to believe that cities, to a good degree, eventually end up shaping themselves, no
matter how much effort urban planners put in their good design, in a continuous transformation and re-confirmation process that deeply affects concepts like
identity, belongingness and sense of community.
Photography, he believes, is the most effective tool to capture the essence of the transformations we endure, deciphering the complexity of
the world we live in.
